This is a middle grade novel that was absolutely wonderful. I am so happy I was able to read this book as an ARC through NetGalley. The basis of the novel is a young girl living in New York, learning about 9/11 for the first time as she was not alive when the tragedy occurred. The beautiful writing takes you through her thought process, her friends, her family, and her realization of why history, far in the past or more recent, truly does matter. This book might make you cry and at the very least will pull out some possibly dormant emotions about the events from that horrific day.
This book really touched me as I was the protagonists age when the planes hit the towers. I can relate to trying to understand such a massive tragedy as such a young person.
I highly recommend this book, for adults and young readers alike.
