The Interestings By: Meg Wolitzer

This book was interesting to say the least (no pun intended). It was about a group of 6 kids who met at an art based summer camp in the 1970's and called themselves the Interestings. The novel follows their lives throughout their teenage years and well into adulthood. The main character, Jules Jacobson, is brought into this group, and its drama. This book is as much a coming of age novel as it is a historical fiction of the 1960's through the present. Presidential elections are discussed, they live in New York when 9/11 happens, they live through marriage, kids, an family life. This book was good; nothing mind blowing or intense, but entertaining and enjoyable.
