The premise of this book intrigued me. It was based on a killer/infectious rain that was a direct result of actions humans had taken in the recent past. While these actions (stopping some form of asteroid) was not discussed in detail, it definitely had a presence in the novel. It seemed fairly realistic, was adventurous and creepy and extremely intense. Ms. Bergin did an amazing job with the character development; although, the main character was not my favorite personality. She seemed very materialistic and was still worried about her makeup and what she was wearing even though the rest of her family was dead in the same apartment. Seems odd to me. Overall I really enjoyed it and am excited to read the second book in The Rain series, Storm.
