This book was quite possibly life changing for me. It brought out so many complex emotions I am having a hard time sorting them all out. The book was about a teenager, Maguire, who believes she is 'cursed,' stemming from a car accident where her brother, dad, and uncle died, but she was uninjured. Her PTSD controls her life until her therapist and a dedicated group of friends convince her that sometimes the risks in life are worth it. This is a heartwarming and encouraging novel that has a much deeper core than most YA genre books tend to have. I loved this book and that it was the Uppercase pick of the month for May.
